The fantastical worlds imagined by the 15th Century Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch, particularly his half human, half fish figures, are the touchstone inspiration for the Sea Creatures collection. This collection spotlights mythical mermaids and human figures that emerge from shells. Earrings are carved in tactile shell-like shapes from rock crystal out of which miniature gold human figures emerge, while a bangle is crafted as a mermaid tail to delicately encircle the wrist.
Inspired by the intricacies and hidden secrets found in antique jewellery, several pieces in the Sea Creatures collection have movement woven into their design. The mermaid's tail in the Mermaid Tail Bangle can twist to open and close on the wrist, evoking a tail's movement in the water, while the scales on the tail can also change direction, lending a tactile appeal.
